Uninsured dirt bike rider caught by police while doing wheelies
A man who was about to be stopped by police for having a defective lamp on his dirt bike tried to evade arrest by doing wheelies.
Members of the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team were on patrol in the Helston area when they spotted the bike rider with no rear lamp working and his licence plate completely obscured by mud. When officers were about to stop him, the man decided to show off by pulling a stunt and doing wheelies. The stunts did not help him escape.
To make matters worse, once the licence plate was cleaned up and checked, it turned out the rider was not insured either. The rider has since been reported and his motorbike seized for not having any insurance.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Our officers were about to stop this motorcycle in the Helston area with defective rear lamps and a rear license plate covered in mud when the rider began attempting to pull wheelies. The vehicle was stopped, words of advice passed, the rider was reported and his motorcycle has now been seized for having no insurance.”
