MG Motor in ‘advance negotiations’ to fill city dealer open points

MG Motor is aiming to recruit sellers for metropolitan spots as it ramps up gross sales of electric powered cars.

The corporation, which now has 150 dealers on its books,  is in “advanced negotiations” with teams to fill open up points in conurbations that draw in potent demand for electric motor vehicles, which attribute strongly in its line-up.

It has a target of building an optimum community of 165 dealerships.

“Most of the market alternatives we have are in the massive metropolitan regions, London staying foremost amongst them. We have candidates that we are in progress negotiations with. I would say 80% are specified to occur off.

“I can very easily see a scenario by the close of this calendar year wherever our franchise plan has been entirely shipped,” stated MG Motor business director Man Pigounakis.

He extra that metropolis places offer their own challenges with larger overheads, like company charges and increased salaries for staff.

Pigounakis explained to Motor Trader that one way ahead was to multi franchise showrooms with other manufacturers sharing back office functions as attainable, including generic charging points.

MG Motor has been hit by the scarcity of semi-conductors but not as hard as many carmakers.

The model is ramping up income. MG sold 13,838 autos in the first quarter when compared to 6,161 in Q1 2021.
