Metro East mechanic says coworker put Blackface doll in his toolbox at local auto center


CENTREVILLE, IL. (KMOV) -A St. Clair County gentleman tells News 4 a racist discovery at do the job has scarred him for daily life.

The African American mechanic states a white doll’s deal with desecrated in Blackface was set in his toolbox at America’s Car Middle in Centreville.

“The doll was all white and they painted the confront black,” Donovan Hickman, the target, stated. “The initials WP was on it which stands for white energy.”

America’s Auto Centre says they are investigating what transpired and has applied sensitivity schooling for all staff.

Hickman is now looking for a new position in his look for for responses and accountability.

“We will get justice,” he explained.
